(~200 words—1.5 points). Abraham Maslow was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. He was the oldest of seven siblings. Maslow first attended the College City of New York then went to Cornell for a semester but eventually transferred to the University of Wisconsin, he got his bachelor’s degree in psychology there. In 1935, Alfred Adler mentored him. He was an instructor at Brooklyn College he met Max Wertheimer and Ruth Benedict and they all did research together. He spent 1951- 1969 as a chairperson of the psychology department at Brandeis University in Massachusetts. While he was working he created his ideas of humanistic psychology. Humanist psychology became more popular during the 1950’s.
